Shape the Future of FP&A
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Interim Head of FP&A to help build a best-in-class financial planning and analysis capability within a growing advanced manufacturing business.
Reporting directly to the CFO, you'll play a pivotal role in strengthening financial insight, improving commercial decision-making and creating the reporting, forecasting and business partnering capability needed to support the next stage of the organisation's evolution.
This isn't about maintaining the status quo. It's an opportunity to build, influence and leave a lasting legacy.
You'll combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach, working across finance and the wider business to modernise reporting, develop forecasting capability and provide the insight that enables better decisions.
The Opportunity
As Interim Head of FP&A, you'll take ownership of the FP&A function while partnering closely with the CFO and senior leadership team.
- Enhance financial reporting, develop meaningful performance insight and build robust planning processes that help drive strategic decision-making across the organisation.
- Play a key role in improving finance systems, supporting ERP implementation and expanding the use of Power BI to make data more accessible and actionable.
- Help shape the future direction of the finance function.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of the FP&A function, establishing best-practice planning, reporting and forecasting processes.
- Own the budgeting and rolling forecasting cycle, improving accuracy and forward-looking insight.
- Develop meaningful management reporting focused on commercial performance, margins and operational drivers.
- Build financial models and scenario analysis to support strategic investment and commercial decisions.
- Partner with operational and commercial leaders, providing challenge, insight and decision support.
- Drive improvements in data quality, automation and financial processes.
- Enhance reporting capability through Power BI and support ongoing ERP implementation.
- Lead, coach and develop the FP&A Analyst while helping define the future structure of the team.
- Support the CFO with strategic analysis, board reporting and business performance initiatives.
About You
You'll be an experienced FP&A leader who enjoys building capability, influencing stakeholders and improving the way finance supports the wider business.

You'll bring:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
- Significant experience within FP&A, Commercial Finance or Finance Business Partnering.
- A track record of developing reporting and planning capability in evolving organisations.
- Strong commercial acumen with excellent financial modelling skills.
- Experience partnering with senior operational and commercial stakeholders.
- The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
- Experience leading or developing finance teams.
- Power BI experience and exposure to ERP implementations would be advantageous.
- Manufacturing, engineering or industrial sector experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
