Your new role
Interim HR Project Advisor / HR Business Partner, you will assist in two major strategic HR initiatives over an initial three-month assignment.
The first project involves leading an organisation-wide change programme, including restructuring, redundancy consultation processes, departmental downsizing and potential business area closures. You will be responsible for managing consultations, preparing supporting documentation, advising senior stakeholders on employment law and employee relations matters, and ensuring all processes are delivered fairly, professionally and compliantly.
Alongside this, you will lead the implementation phase of a business-wide competency framework. This will include completing capability assessments, identifying skills gaps, developing career pathways, supporting performance management integration, and making recommendations around future talent and reward strategies.
This role requires an individual who can quickly establish credibility, manage multiple workstreams and deliver outcomes with minimal supervision.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
