Location: East London
Contract: Interim for 3 months initially
Hybrid working available: 3 days onsite per week
Salary: £350-£450 per day (umbrella)

Are you an experienced HR Business Partner with a proven track record of leading complex restructures and organisational change within large, unionised environments?
As an Interim HR Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in delivering a significant transformation programme. Partnering with senior leaders, navigating complex employee relations matters and driving change from planning through to implementation.

The Role

As the interim HRBP you will work closely with Directors and senior stakeholders to design and deliver organisational change initiatives that align workforce capability with future service requirements.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading end-to-end restructuring and organisational design activity.
  • Developing and delivering change project plans, including consultation and implementation phases.
  • Managing workforce planning and producing people-focused insights through data analysis and benchmarking.
  • Advising senior leaders on complex employee relations issues and change impacts.
  • Building positive and effective relationships with Trade Unions throughout consultation processes.
  • Supporting redeployment, redundancy, and organisational transition activities.
  • Ensuring change programmes are delivered compliantly, efficiently, and with a strong focus on employee engagement.

About You

We are looking for a commercially minded HR professional who combines strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.

You will ideally have:

  • CIPD Chartered Membership or equivalent senior HR experience.
  • Significant experience leading large-scale restructures, reorganisation projects, or transformation programmes.
  • A strong background in working within complex, public sector or highly regulated environments.
  • Extensive employee relations expertise, including consultation and negotiation with Trade Unions.
  • Experience using workforce data and management information to influence business decisions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to challenge, influence and coach senior leaders.
  • Strong project management capabilities and the ability to deliver against demanding timescales.
  • Experience supporting cultural and structural change programmes from design through to delivery.
