Interim People Business Partner (Fixed Term Contract)

Date of Role: August 2026 – February 2027

Salary: £110,000 - £140,000 + Benefits Day-rate candidates will also be considered (c. £600 per day)

About the Role

We're supporting a global industrial and technology-led organisation in the appointment of an experienced Interim People Business Partner to cover a key leadership transition within the HR function.

This role involves partnering with a diverse portfolio including:

  • Research & Development (R&D)
  • Engineering & Technical Operations
  • Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)
  • Marketing & Sales Enablement
  • Pricing

The People Business Partner will work closely with senior business leaders to deliver people strategies that support business performance, organisational effectiveness, and colleague engagement. The position features dual reporting lines across the People function, offering significant visibility and influence across the organisation.

The Opportunity

The role requires acting as a trusted business advisor to senior leaders, translating business priorities into pragmatic people solutions while ensuring alignment with wider HR and organisational objectives. The environment is fast-paced, complex, and undergoing ongoing transformation, demanding a commercially-minded HR leader capable of providing both strategic insight and hands-on execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner senior leaders on workforce, talent, and organisational priorities
  • Support organisational design, restructuring, and cost-saving initiatives
  • Lead consultation and change implementation activity
  • Provide pragmatic solutions to complex people challenges
  • Influence and challenge stakeholders to drive business outcomes
  • Work across international teams and matrixed environments
  • Collaborate with Centres of Expertise and broader People teams to deliver integrated people solutions

About You

We're seeking an experienced senior HR Business Partner who excels in commerciality, resilience, and execution.

Essential Experience

  • Extensive senior-level HR Business Partnering experience
  • A strong track record in supporting transformation and organisational change
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Experience in organisation design, workforce planning, and employment law
  • Hands-on, pragmatic approach with the ability to cut through complexity
  • Experience operating within global and matrixed organisations

Advantageous Expertise

  • Exposure to manufacturing, engineering, R&D, industrial, or hazardous environments

Location & Working Pattern

  • Flexible location with regular access to:
    • Central London (Gresham Street)
    • Sonning (R&D site)
  • Hybrid and remote working arrangements are available for part of the week.
