We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established logistics business who are looking for an experienced HR Manager to join them on a 3- 6 month fixed-term contract, supporting absence management, policy review and day-to-day employee relations during a period of operational change.

The Role

Based near Maidstone, Kent, and reporting into the COO, you'll work closely with site managers and the senior leadership team to deliver consistent, compliant and pragmatic HR support. This is a hands-on role for someone who's comfortable working autonomously and confident influencing operational colleagues to get things done.

Your key responsibilities will cover:

  • Absence management: managing short and long-term absence cases, return-to-work meetings, occupational health referrals and accurate absence reporting
  • Casework and investigations: leading informal and formal capability, conduct and grievance cases, preparing documentation and supporting managers through hearings and appeals
  • Policy review: reviewing and updating HR policies (absence, flexible working, sick pay) to reflect current legislation and business needs
  • Employee relations: advising managers on day-to-day ER issues and promoting consistent policy application across sites
  • Compliance: maintaining employee records in line with GDPR and producing absence and casework reports for senior stakeholders
  • Manager coaching: building capability across the business through guidance on absence, performance and policy
  • Project support: contributing to broader HR process improvements as required

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
