Interim Lead HR Business Partner
Salary: £80,000–£90,000 (depending on experience) Contract: Fixed-Term until September 2026 Start Date: ASAP Location: Hybrid – 3 days per week in the London office
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Interim Lead HR Business Partner to join a fast-growing international business. This is a highly visible leadership role, partnering closely with the CFO and senior leadership team to deliver strategic HR support while overseeing the day-to-day management of a global People function.
You will:
- Lead a small international HR team across multiple regions
- Drive key people initiatives and ensure smooth HR operations
- Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders on organisational strategy
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership
- Advisor to senior leadership on organisational design, workforce planning, and business transformation
- Align people strategy with business objectives, supporting growth through effective planning
- Establish and monitor HR KPIs to drive performance and operational improvements
- Lead, coach, and develop an international HR team

Performance, Engagement & Culture
- Oversee performance management, engagement, and retention strategies globally
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous development
- Ensure scalable, compliant, and effective onboarding and learning and development initiatives
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Senior escalation point for complex employee relations matters (disciplinary, grievance, performance cases)
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation across multiple jurisdictions
- Manage employment contracts, policy updates, and complex documentation
- Maintain oversight of global right-to-work, visa, and employment compliance
HR Operations & Projects
- Strategic oversight of global HR systems, ensuring data integrity and process improvements
- Collaborate with Finance on payroll, benefits, pensions, and reward activities
- Lead HR transformation projects, including process optimisation and organisational change programmes
- Review and enhance HR policies, processes, and governance frameworks

About You
A seasoned HR professional with expertise in strategic HR leadership, international teams, and executive partnerships.
Required:
- Significant experience as a Senior HR Business Partner, Head of HR, or HR Director
- Proven skills in organisational design, workforce planning, and change management
- Strong employee relations background with experience handling complex cases
- Deep understanding of UK employment law (plus global workforce exposure)
- Experience managing and developing remote/international HR teams
- Commercial mindset with influence over senior stakeholders
- Experience in HR projects and driving operational improvements
- Familiarity with global HR systems and international payroll is advantageous
