Interim Legal Counsel Contract Opportunity
We are partnering with an innovative, high-growth operational business to secure an Interim Legal Counsel for a flexible contract. The client is open to considering candidates on either a full-time or part-time basis, making this an excellent opportunity for an experienced contractor looking for their next project, or a professional seeking a high-quality flexible arrangement.
The position reports directly into the senior legal leadership and offers a broad, fast-paced remit with a healthy balance of core commercial work and strategic project involvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial & Procurement Contracting: Draft, review, and negotiate a diverse range of commercial agreements. You will work closely with supply chain and procurement teams on complex equipment, IT, and operational supplier agreements, as well as supporting marketing, sales, and strategic commercial partnerships.
- Project Support: Act as a key legal adviser on the business’s growth and commercial project pipeline, providing pragmatic, solutions-oriented advice to help achieve corporate objectives while effectively managing legal risk.
- Advise on wider operational matters as they arise, with opportunities to pick up work spanning data protection, privacy, corporate governance, and employment law depending on business needs.
- Legal Operations & Innovation: Support the General Counsel with internal process improvements, including the refinement of standard terms and precedents, and the evaluation or roll-out of legal technology initiatives.
- Horizon Scanning: Conduct legal research across a variety of practice areas to keep the business compliant and ahead of industry developments, ensuring best practice is shared across the wider team.

The Ideal Candidate:

- Qualifications: UK-qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive, ideally around 4+ years PQE. Candidates with a different level of experience who can demonstrate the requisite technical capability are highly encouraged to apply.
- Technical Experience: A solid foundation in commercial contracts is essential. You must be comfortable managing a busy workload and working autonomously on standard to mid-complex agreements.
- Mindset: Adaptable, commercially minded, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment. An interest in legal tech and operational efficiency is a plus.
