Location: Horwich, BL6 6JW Contract: Full-Time (Fixed Term – 3 months) Salary: Up to £47,000 Company: EG Group
About the Role
EG Group is seeking an Interim Management Accountant to join our Finance team on a three-month contract. This role will involve supporting the accuracy, timeliness of management accounts, financial reporting, and performance analytics while collaborating with both Finance and operational stakeholders.
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in:
- Month-end processes
- Balance sheet control
- Budgeting
- Financial analysis
Your contributions will drive informed business decisions and enhance overall performance. This is an ideal opportunity for a part-qualified accountant looking to expand their experience in a fast-paced, commercially-driven environment with exposure to senior stakeholders and operational finance activities.

Responsibilities
- Producing accurate monthly management accounts, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations within agreed deadlines.
- Leading or assisting with month-end processes, ensuring adherence to Group requirements with complete, precise, and on-time reporting.
- Supporting variance and trend analysis, providing insights into financial performance across sites and cost centres.
- Collaborating with operational and commercial teams to facilitate budgeting, forecasting, and business decision-making.
- Managing balance sheet controls, fixed asset accounting, and mitigating identified financial risks.
- Assisting with quarterly reporting, statutory audits, and any additional finance projects as needed.
- Continuously improving finance processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Must be a part-qualified accountant holding an recognised certification such as:
- ACCA
- CIMA
- ACA
- Must have prior experience in positions like Management Accounting or Assistant Management Accounting.
- Demonstrate strong Excel skills, including financial data analysis and interpretation.
- Must have a deep understanding of:
- Month-end processes
- Journals
- Reconciliations
- Financial reporting
- Must exhibit strong organisational skills to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Requirements include:
- Commercial awareness
- Collaborative approach with operational stakeholders
- starken ability to influence business decisions
- Essential communication skills to build strong working relationships through the organisation are imperative.
- Proactive, adaptable, and eager to continue developing a financial career.
