Mapped Recruitment is delighted to be working with a construction/interior design organisation that has experienced rapid growth from circa £3m to £30m over the last 6 years, with a clear growth trajectory ahead.

This construction/interior project-based business is now hiring an Interim Management Accountant to join their team on a 6-month fixed-term contract immediately/on short notice.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, an experienced Management Accountant who can step in quickly, take ownership of the month-end process and the core finance operations, and bring consistency and discipline to a function that is being restructured.

Key Responsibilities

Month-End Close

  • Take full ownership of the month-end close
  • Produce accurate monthly management accounts on Xero with clear variance commentary
  • Post all journals, accruals, prepayments and depreciation entries
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly: no aged items, no surprises
  • Maintain the month-end closing calendar and hold the team to it
  • Apply revenue recognition correctly across all project contract types (stage-of-completion, IFRS 15 / FRS 102)

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
