Interim Multi-Skilled Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Hall Green, Birmingham (with travel to Droitwich as required)
Salary: Up to £19.23 per hour (depending on experience)

We are recruiting for an experienced Interim Multi-Skilled Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing business. This is a hands-on role responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of production machinery and plant equipment across two sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on manufacturing machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults, including motors, drives, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, and control panels.
- Safely isolate electrical and mechanical systems in accordance with Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures.
- Assist with the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment.
- Record maintenance activities accurately using the CMMS system.
- Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime and maximise machine availability.
- Supervise external contractors when required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

About You
- NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience working as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.
- Strong electrical fault-finding skills, including PLCs, relays, and three-phase systems.
- Sound mechanical knowledge covering hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, gearboxes, and conveyors.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations is advantageous.
- Flexible approach to overtime and out-of-hours support when required.

What's on Offer

- Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4:00pm.
- Interim opportunity with an immediate start.
- Based primarily in Hall Green, Birmingham, with occasional travel to Droitwich.
