This Interim Payroll Manager role offers the opportunity to lead a team of two while managing end-to-end UK in-house payroll and multiple outsourced international payrolls for a leading real estate business. Candidates must have proven payroll management experience, strong international payroll knowledge, and be available immediately or on a short notice period.

Our client is a well-established and growing real estate organisation with a diverse property portfolio across the UK and internationally. Following continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Interim Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations and support the delivery of an efficient, compliant payroll function.
Description
- Manage the end-to-end in-house UK payroll processing for employees across the business.
- Oversee outsourced international payrolls, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely delivery.
- Lead and develop a payroll team of two, providing guidance and day-to-day support.
- Act as the main point of contact for external payroll providers and key stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, NIC, pensions and statutory payments.
- Review payroll reconciliations, reporting and month-end payroll activities.
- Process and approve payroll changes, including starters, leavers, salary changes and benefits.
- Resolve complex payroll queries and provide expert guidance to HR and Finance teams.
- Maintain robust payroll controls, processes and documentation.
- Support payroll audits, compliance requirements and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Produce accurate payroll reporting and management information.
- Drive process efficiencies and support payroll-related projects where required.

Profile
A successful Interim Payroll Manager should have:
- Proven experience managing end-to-end UK in-house payroll.
- Strong international payroll experience, working with outsourced payroll providers.
- Previous payroll team management experience, ideally leading a small team.
- Excellent knowledge of UK payroll legislation, PAYE, pensions and statutory requirements.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to partner effectively with HR and Finance.
- Hands-on and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage operational payroll while driving improvements.
- Available immediately or on a short notice period.
- Experience within a multinational or real estate environment would be advantageous.
