Interim People & Culture Officer
Temporary role for 3 months initially
Based in Southwark
Full time with hybrid working available
Salary: circa £18 per hour PAYE
Are you a highly organised HR professional who thrives on creating outstanding employee experiences and keeping people processes running smoothly? Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where no two days are the same?
We're looking for a People & Culture Officer to join a dynamic People & Transformation team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with HR administration experience who is passionate about people, employee engagement, learning and development, and supporting business success through excellent people practices.
As our People & Culture Officer, you'll play a vital role in supporting the full employee lifecycle and ensuring the smooth operation of the People & Culture function. Working closely with HR colleagues and stakeholders across the organisation, you'll:
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems
- Support recruitment campaigns and deliver a seamless candidate experience
- Coordinate learning and development activities, helping employees grow and succeed
- Assist with payroll, benefits administration, and absence management
- Produce HR documentation, correspondence, and reports
- Support employee engagement initiatives and performance review processes
- Help ensure compliance with employment legislation, policies, and GDPR requirements
- Create and maintain engaging people-focused content across internal communication channels and the intranet

What We're Looking For
We're seeking an enthusiastic and proactive individual who can confidently manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience within an HR Administration role ideally within public sector
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Experience working with HR systems and Microsoft Office applications
- A professional, confidential, and customer-focused approach
- Knowledge of HR processes and employment law
- Experience of working within a fast paced environment with changing priorities.
- Experience in Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition, or DEI activities
- CIPD Level 3 qualification, working towards CIPD, or equivalent experience (desirable)
