Interim Product & Privacy Counsel (6-Month Contract)
Location: London Working Model: Hybrid
A leading global commercial client is seeking an experienced Product & Privacy Counsel to join its growing legal team for an initial 6-month contract.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of technology, digital regulation, AI, privacy, and product development, advising on innovative online products while supporting business growth across the UK and Europe.
The role involves working closely with product, engineering, and commercial stakeholders to provide pragmatic legal guidance across:
- Advising on compliance with key EU and UK regulations, including:
- GDPR
- DSA (Digital Services Act)
- DMA (Digital Markets Act)
- Corresponding consumer protection frameworks
- Supporting legal reviews of new:
- Digital products
- Features
- Data usage initiatives
- AI-driven technologies
- Delivering commercially focused legal advice in partnership with cross-functional teams
- Collaborating with privacy, regulatory, competition, and IP specialists on complex legal challenges
- Supporting new market launches and European expansion initiatives
- Reviewing and updating online terms and conditions across multiple jurisdictions
- Contributing to improvements in legal processes, including:
- Training initiatives
- Template development

About You
To bring your expertise to this role, you will meet the following requirements:
Qualifications & Experience
- A qualified lawyer in the UK or EU, with strong experience in at least one of:
- Privacy and data protection
- Digital regulation
- Consumer protection
- Competition/antitrust
- Intellectual property
- Technology/product counselling

Key Skills & Knowledge
- Experience advising technology, digital platform, e-commerce, and consumer-facing businesses
- In-depth knowledge of European regulatory frameworks
- Ability to translate complex legal issues into practical, business-driven advice
- Comfortable working directly with:
- Product teams
- Engineering teams
- Business stakeholders
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
