Interim Real Estate Portfolio Analyst (3 month contract, strong likelihood of extension)

Global Accounting Network are partnering with a leading professional services business that supports investment managers within the real estate sector. They are seeking an experienced Interim Portfolio Analyst to join the team on an initial 3-month rolling contract - working with a PE-backed Real Estate Investment Manager.

This role will focus on providing analytical insight across a diverse property portfolio (800 SPVs), with a particular emphasis on rental yields, return on investment (ROI), IRR, and tenant payment performance and portfolio reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with investment managers to analyse potential real estate transactions across all asset classes, including residential, office, retail, and industrial assets, and multiple types of transactions: direct asset, corporate, secondary share, private funds etc.
  • Build and maintain financial models to support investment and asset management decisions.
  • Analyse portfolio performance, focusing on rental yields, ROI and overall asset performance.
  • Monitor rental income, arrears and defaulted tenant payments, identifying trends and potential risks
  • Analyse the impact of different assumptions on performance: revenue, operating expenses, financing, tax fees, etc.
  • Extract, manipulate and analyse large volumes of data using advanced Excel
  • Provide commercial insights and recommendations to improve portfolio performance
  • Liaise with asset management and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Support ad hoc analysis and reporting requests across the investment portfolio.

  • Previous experience within the real estate, property investment or asset management sector is essential.
  • Experience building financial models from scratch for a Real Estate Investment Manager is essential.
  • Strong experience analysing property portfolios, including rental yields, ROI and tenant payment performance.
  • Advanced Excel skills, VBA, pivot tables, Power Query, INDEX/MATCH/XLOOKUP and financial modelling experience.
  • Able to work autonomously and deliver insights in a fast-paced environment.
  • CFA Level I (or working towards it) would be highly desirable.
  • Immediately Available, or able to start within 2 weeks.
