Global Accounting Network is working with a specialist boutique law firm that is undergoing an exciting period of growth and transformation following recent private equity investment.
They are looking for an experienced Interim Reporting Manager to join the finance team and take ownership of the month-end close and management reporting. This contract will be for an initial 3-6 months, with a strong likelihood of being converted into a permanent position.
Working with a small finance team, reporting directly to the CFO, this is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable being the single accountable person for the accuracy and integrity of the numbers.
Key responsibilities:
- Own the month-end close process from end to end
- Lead balance sheet reconciliations and substantiation
- Manage accruals and prepayments
- Oversee accounts payable and supplier payments
- Oversee payroll and ensure correct accounting treatment
- Own VAT and tax compliance
- Take responsibility for monthly management reporting and KPI reporting
- Ensure compliance with relevant SRA Accounts Rules
- Support the CFO and COFA with financial controls and reporting
- Play a key role in the selection and implementation of a replacement finance/practice management system
- Improve processes, controls and documentation across the finance function

Key requirements:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
- Strong experience owning month-end close and balance sheet substantiation
- Strong management reporting experience
- Working knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules and client account operations
- Hands-on experience across AP, payroll, VAT/tax, accruals and prepayments
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills
- Experience working with imperfect or evolving data sets
- Immediately available and able to start at pace

Experience within a legal or professional services environment would be highly advantageous, as would exposure to a PE-backed business and finance system implementation or migration.
