Our client is embarking on a significant S/4HANA Implementation.
They need an Interim Data Architect to support that journey.
They need someone to own the end-to-end data architecture for the project’s target SAP end state.
This is a key role sitting within the over design and implementation team.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end data architecture design for the programme.
- Design a modern, flexible, and scalable data platform aligned to the SAP roadmap, ensuring maturity over time to support future analytics and AI demand.
- Define governed data products across report to record across finance, procurement, logistics, sales, master data, and planning.
- Design master data architecture.
- Lead data and analytics workshops, driving stakeholder buy-in for a modern data and analytics platform and supporting a shift away from legacy reporting practices.
- Define how governed SAP data is made available to non-SAP enterprise data technologies.
- Set and uphold data architecture standards to protect platform coherence as the solution grows.

The Ideal Candidate will be/have:
- A track record of designing modern, flexible, scalable data platforms.
- Experience translating business reporting and analytics needs into governed data models, semantic layers, and data products.
- Experience designing data landscapes across multiple SAP transformations, including at least one S/4HANA implementation.
- Strong architectural design experience in multi-stakeholder environments.
- Led workshops, manage senior stakeholders, and communicate platform benefits clearly.
- Strong experience of SAP data capabilities, including data modelling, semantic layers, and governed data product design.
- Awareness of SAP Public Cloud implications for data architecture.
- Competence in applying data architecture concepts to the SAP data landscape.
- Appreciation of data migration and integration architecture sufficient to ensure migrated and integrated data lands align with the target data models.

The role is initially a 6-month contract but likely to extend.
The business operates a hybrid working policy, targeting 2-3 days in their UK office. Day rate range is to be confirmed.
