Interim Senior Practitioner

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to step into the role of Senior Practitioner for a fixed term of 2 years, as a secondment. This post is to backfill for the current postholder. The post is based within Adult Social Care community Team (ASCCT).
The work covered by the team is diverse but it centres on strength based conversations with individuals. We look to supporting people to maximise their independence and ensuring they have greater choice and control over their care. A key priority is ensuring our approach is fully aligned with the Care Act.
The role will be focused on assisting the managers in the day to day management of the team. This could include providing management oversite to the busy duty function within ASCCT, complex case discussions, and supervision of staff. It is a great opportunity to gain operational management experience.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1: Can express themselves fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly. Only a conceptually difficult subject can hinder a natural, smooth flow of language.
Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
