What You’ll Do

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded and digitally savvy corporate lawyer to join the Group Corporate legal team as a Senior Legal Counsel within the Group Strategic Transactions team. Reporting to the Head of Corporate and Transformation, Technology & Operations, you will play a key role in advising on a broad range of corporate matters, including M&A, treasury and financing activities, joint ventures, investments, and corporate governance.

This is a high-impact role requiring strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment. You will work closely with internal stakeholders across M&A, Ventures, Investments, Treasury, and the wider business, supporting strategic initiatives and helping to translate legal advice into practical, business-focused outcomes.

The role offers exposure to complex, high-value transactions and the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of legal processes, governance frameworks, and innovative ways of working. You will also be expected to contribute to broader team initiatives, including knowledge sharing, mentoring junior team members, and driving continuous improvement across the function.

Provide high-quality legal advice across a wide range of corporate matters, including M&A transactions, joint ventures, investments, treasury activities and governance Support the execution of strategic transactions, working closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors to deliver commercially focused and practical outcomes Advise on and review transaction documentation, ensuring alignment with Vodafone’s strategic objectives and risk appetite Proactive in adopting technology and data-driven approaches to improve efficiency, streamline processes, and enhance the delivery of legal services Contribute to the development and improvement of legal processes, governance structures, and operational efficiencies across the corporate function Collaborate with teams across M&A, Ventures, Investments, and Treasury to support the delivery of key business initiatives Assist in managing relationships with external counsel, ensuring high-quality and cost-effective legal support Provide clear, concise, and commercially grounded advice to senior stakeholders, enabling effective decision-making Support governance and compliance requirements across the corporate structure, working closely with Company Secretariat and other functions Contribute to reporting, presentations, and the use of digital tools to enhance transparency and efficiency in legal processes Play an active role in mentoring and supporting junior colleagues, contributing to a high-performing and collaborative team environment

Who You Are

UK qualified lawyer with significant post-qualification experience in corporate law, including strong exposure to M&A Solid technical expertise across corporate transactions, financing, governance, and regulatory frameworks Interest in innovation, process improvement, and the use of technology to enhance legal delivery Experience working within a FTSE-listed company, large multinational, or private practice environment Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to provide pragmatic, solutions-oriented advice Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage and influence senior business leaders Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex legal concepts clearly and concisely Experience working collaboratively across functions and with external advisors High levels of professionalism, adaptability, and sound judgment

What's In It For You

Yearly bonus: 20%

Company car: company funded car of £580 per month + private fuel or cash alternative of £630 per month.

Annual leave: 28 days + bank holidays + the opportunity to buy/sell/carry over 5 days/year

Charity days: 5 days/year

Maternity leave: 52 weeks: the first 13 weeks are fully paid, followed by 26 weeks of half pay

Private pension: You can contribute up to 5% of your basic pay with 2:1 matching from Vodafone up to 10%.
