An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join a thriving building services consultancy in Birmingham.
Established for over 25 years, this independent engineering consultancy delivers innovative building services solutions across a broad spectrum of industries, including healthcare, commercial, education, residential, life sciences, leisure, and public sectors. The organisation is renowned for:

The Birmingham office is currently undergoing significant growth, with plans to double the team size within two years. This presents a phenomenal opportunity for an ambitious engineering professional to join at a pivotal moment and contribute to the consultancy’s continuing success.
Key Responsibilities
As an Intermediate Electrical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design and delivery of electrical engineering projects across multiple sectors, collaborating closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams. Core responsibilities include:
- Producing detailed electrical building services designs (covering power, lighting, small power systems and associated infrastructure)
- Conducting design calculations and drafting technical reports
- Assisting in the preparation of specifications, tender documentation, and other project deliverables
- Coordinating designs with mechanical, sustainability, and BIM teams
- Participating in design team meetings, client consultations, and site visits
- Supporting projects through all stages of the RIBA process
- Contributing to energy-efficient and low-carbon design solutions
- Working across a variety of sectors, including healthcare, education, residential, and commercial projects

Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- A degree, HNC, or HND in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
- Trusted experience in designing electrical building services systems
- Proficiency in relevant design software, including:
- AutoCAD
- Revit
- Amtech
- Dialux
- Similar industry-standard tools
- A comprehensive understanding of current building regulations and industry standards
- Strong communication and teamworking abilities
- A forward-thinking mindset, ideally interested in professional accreditation
