Mechanical Design Engineer Responsibilities
- Carry out fee-earning work designing schemes.
- The formation of sound engineering designs, providing cost-effective solutions.
- Attending meetings with clients, contractors, and other professionals.
- Draw up detailed specifications and drawings.
- Project manage site works from commencement to completion.
- Develop energy strategies to adopt appropriate sustainable and low carbon mechanical design systems.
- Complete site visits, surveys, and witness system commissioning.
- Work as part of a team.
- Carry out tasks to progress your knowledge and experience.

Essential Skills and Experience
- Degree/master’s degree in mechanical engineering or building services.
- Familiar with relevant legislation, codes of practice, CIBSE guides, building regulations, and best practice and environmentally sensitive.
- Chartered Engineer status or an aspiration to become chartered.
