Our 3-6 month Research & Development internship offers hands-on experience, skill-building opportunities, and exposure to cutting-edge laboratory-based projects, helping you contribute to technological breakthroughs while growing professionally.
What You’ll Do
Core Responsibilities:
- Support laboratory operations by managing daily functions, ensuring smooth workflows, and adhering to best practices.
- Monitor and restock consumables, raw materials, and lab supplies, coordinating replenishments internally and raising Purchase Requisitions (PRs) with external suppliers.
- Collaborate with the team on new product development, including:
- Formulation, testing, and characterisation of materials.
- Documentation and labelling of samples per company protocols.
- Maintain and update R&D databases (e.g., material properties, test results, workflow logs).
- Champion housekeeping, including:
- Safe disposal of hazardous materials.
- Ensuring compliance with PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and laboratory safety standards.
- Manage workload effectively—prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and mitigate risk through structured problem-solving.
- Participate in team meetings, with responsibilities for:
- Taking detailed notes.
- Tracking action items and following up with stakeholders.

Who You Are
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
✅ Previous laboratory experience (e.g., university labs, technician roles, internships). ✅ Academic background in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related discipline (applicants with alternative qualifications will be considered). ✅ Technical proficiency:
- Competency in Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software (e.g., Excel for data management, Word for documentation).
- Adaptability to new systems, software, and tools. ✅ Practical and problem-solving skills:
- Ability to organise workloads, set priorities, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- No prior research experience? Please still apply—we value initiative and enthusiasm. ✅ Availability and commitment:
- Full-time onsite participation required for the entire internship duration (3–6 months).
- Willingness to work in a professional lab environment (including adherence to safety protocols).
Bonus Skills:
- Familiarity with data analysis tools (SPSS, statistical software).
- Experience using analytical instruments (GC/MS, FTIR, UV-Vis) or liquid handling/automation equipment.
- Teamwork focus or involvement in hands-on group projects.
