Desk Based (internal) Account Manager
Permanent, Full Time, 38.75 hours, Monday to Friday 8:45am to 5:30pm
Location: Based on Site at our offices in Rugby, Warwickshire
Your new Company:
At Häfele UK, we're more than a supplier of furniture fittings, ironmongery and hardware solutions. As part of the global Häfele Group, we support customers across the trade, manufacturing, construction and interiors sectors with innovative products, industry expertise and exceptional service.
Your new role:
Our sales teams play a crucial role in building lasting customer relationships and helping businesses grow. Joining our Desk Based Sales team means becoming part of a collaborative, high-performing environment where success is recognised, development is encouraged and internal progression is a genuine reality. In fact, this opportunity has arisen due to an internal promotion, demonstrating the career pathways available within the business.
As a Desk Based Account Manager, you'll take ownership of a portfolio of existing, dormant and new customer accounts, helping to strengthen relationships, identify opportunities and drive sales growth.
This is a fully phone-based sales role where you'll spend much of your day speaking with customers, understanding their needs and proactively introducing products and solutions that add value to their business. While outbound activity is a key part of the role, the focus is largely on developing existing relationships, re-engaging dormant customers and nurturing opportunities rather than cold calling from scratch.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain a sales pipeline, ensuring opportunities are accurately tracked and progressed through each stage of the sales cycle
- Building and maintaining strong customer relationships by phone and digital channels.
- Re-engaging dormant accounts and developing new customer accounts.
- Promoting and selling Häfele's products and services.
- Managing customer enquiries and providing solutions that meet customer needs.
- Achieving sales, profit and activity targets.
- Maintaining accurate CRM records and follow-up activity.
- Working closely with colleagues across the wider sales and support teams.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
