Outwood Grange Academy

Role: Internal Alternative Provision Coordinator

Salary: £24,872.36 to £25,691.64 (permanent)

Hours: 37 hours per week (during term time + 5 days) Pattern:

  • Monday to Thursday: 08:00am – 04:00pm
  • Fridays: 08:00am – 03:30pm

Start Date: 01/09/2026


Are you ready to be a champion for student success? Join us as an Internal Alternative Provision Coordinator, where you will play a critical role in supporting students who are at risk of suspension due to challenging behaviour. Your mission will be to promote positive discipline, raise aspirations, and ensure continued academic progress while working towards a successful return to mainstream education.

This role suits someone passionate about removing academic and behavioural barriers, ensuring all students thrive in a supportive environment.


Key Responsibilities

Student Support & Teaching

  • Plan and deliver structured lessons, guided teaching, and 1:1 or small group sessions focusing on:
    • Academic progress
    • Social skills and resilience
    • Self-confidence building

Wellbeing & Behavioural Intervention

  • Deliver targeted interventions addressing social, emotional, and mental health needs, reinforcing values of safety, respect, and responsibility.

Reintegration & Academic Support

  • Adapt student timetables to facilitate a return to mainstream education.
  • Conduct lesson monitoring visits and provide academic mentoring to prevent repeat referrals.

Collaboration & Referral Development

  • Work with Learning Managers, the Inclusion Team, and Senior Leadership to refine referral processes and develop effective intervention strategies.

Parent & Staff Communication

  • Maintain regular contact with parents/carers to share progress updates.
  • Collaborate with academy staff to disseminate best-practice classroom strategies.

Administrative & Logistical Support

  • Assist in coordinating after-school detentions, including learning activities.
  • Maintain accurate student records using systems such as SIMs, oCloud, and Praising Stars.
