We have been mandated to work on a high-profile Risk Advisory buildout of a Global Top 15 Practice in Birmingham as part of my client's national and indeed global expansion plans, serving both UK and multinational clients who have or are growing operations in the Midlands.
They are looking to hire a Risk Advisory and Internal Audit Partner to head this up and report to the Board and CEO level to build the offering.
Requirements:
- You will ideally be a current or recent Risk Advisory and IA Partner or 4th year plus Director in a Global or Mid-Tier Practice or are working in or recently worked in a global management consultancy in this space such as Protiviti, Accenture (Parker Fitzgerald), or CFGI for example.
- You will have a multimillion-pound budget to hire staff of your choosing, build an infrastructure, marketing, and business development team to grow this.
- The Practice already has a successful Risk Advisory function in London and Manchester, and there are pools of Internal Audit, Risk Advisory, and Tech Risk professionals with blue chip and Big 4 backgrounds to draw from. My client also gets significant global referrals from multinationals with many looking to build in the Midlands and would also want you to leverage your own network.
- You could be an expert and grow offerings in any key area such as Internal Audit, Risk Advisory, Transformation, Financial Mis Conduct with ideally Corporate or Not for Profit clients.
- You will work with the Board to build £5 to 10 million revenue business in the next 5-7 years. My client will offer a market leading starting package, which could lead to earning £1 million a year in just 5 years, if agreed objectives are met.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
