About the Role
Join Barclays as Vice President – Internal Audit, leading audits within the UK Private Bank and Wealth Management (PBWM) division. This critical role involves collaborating with the Barclays Internal Audit (BIA) team to develop independent auditee relationships, delivering independent assurances on internal controls’ effectiveness, and driving high-standard audit execution aligned with Barrancy’s audit methodology. You'll also play a strategic role ensuring compliance with the PBWM Audit Plan while fostering cross-functional collaboration.
Purpose of the Role
Support the development of audits aligned to Barclays standards by:
- Providing accurate information, recommendations, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to build effective assurance frameworks.
Accountabilities
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee the development and delivery of audits covering:
- Financial statements and accounting practices
- Operational processes and workflow efficiency
- IT systems and technological governance
- Risk management frameworks
- Identify operational risks through structured risk assessments, contributing to the Barclays Internal Audit Plan.
- Evaluate internal control effectiveness to ensure they meet regulatory requirements, enabling organisations to mitigate risk:
- Communicate key findings and actionable recommendations to:
- Audit Owners, senior managers, and directors
- Monitor regulatory developments and industry trends to provide insights on best practices.
- Proactively highlight emerging financial products and services that impact the PBWM division.

Key Essentials & Qualifications
Mandatory Skills & Experience
- Extensive risk-based auditing experience within Private Banking and Wealth Management.
- Relevant professional qualifications (equivalent to or exceeding ACA or CFA in audit/investment domains).
- Fundamental understanding of Data Analytics and Generative AI, including awareness of tools available.
- Proven expert-level stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration skills. Outstanding track record in managing audits and driving impact in this field.
Additional Preference Skills
- Applied knowledge of regulatory environments relevant to banking/wealth management (e.g., FCA, MiFID).
- Expertise in managing large-scale audit projects/driving transformational initiatives.
- Acumen in financial products and services, particularly novel offerings within the PBWM sector.
