Remote - Internal Audit & Senior Internal Auditor
Job Purpose
The Delivery-Based Internal Auditor provides independent and objective assurance over the organisation's project, programme, and change delivery activities. The role evaluates whether projects are governed effectively, risks are identified and managed, controls are operating efficiently, and delivery outcomes align with strategic objectives.
Working closely with delivery teams and senior stakeholders, the auditor provides insight and recommendations that improve project success, strengthen governance, and enhance organisational performance.

Key Responsibilities
Audit Delivery
- Plan, execute, and report on risk-based internal audits across projects, programmes, portfolios, and operational delivery functions.
- Assess project governance against recognised best practice.
- Review project lifecycle controls from initiation through to closure.
- Evaluate delivery methodologies including Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid approaches.
- Test the effectiveness of key project controls including:
- Scope management
- Schedule management
- Budget control
- Risk and issue management
- Change control
- Dependency management
- Quality assurance
- Resource planning
- Benefits realisation

Governance & Risk
- Assess the effectiveness of governance frameworks supporting project delivery.
- Evaluate programme and portfolio management arrangements.
- Review decision-making structures, escalation routes, and reporting mechanisms.
- Assess strategic, operational, financial, technology, and delivery risks.
- Identify emerging delivery risks and recommend appropriate mitigations.
