Job Description
JOB TITLE: ALS Teacher
LOCATION: Cambridge
HOURS: 15 per week (working days to be agreed)
SALARY: £12,934 - £16,310 per annum (£31,904 - £40,233 FTE)
We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a current CWA staff member to join our Additional Learning Support Teaching (ALS) team for 2 days per week. This role focuses on supporting students who require additional tuition in English or maths, as well as those who need help developing key skills such as time management or academic writing.
As an ALS Teacher, you will plan and deliver personalised learning sessions tailored to each student’s individual needs. Working closely with learners, you will identify gaps in their understanding, build their confidence, and support their progress through targeted, engaging activities.
You will work with small groups of students, delivering sessions in maths, English, academic writing and planning, or time management, helping them develop the skills and self-belief needed to succeed in Further Education.
This role also involves managing your own timetable and ensuring that support sessions are arranged around students’ existing commitments.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
