Internal Communications Apprentice

Melton (near Hull, HU14 3HJ)
Salary
National Minimum Wage (age dependent) + 30 days holiday + pension + staff discount across Heron Foods & B&M

As an Internal Communications Apprentice, you'll support our Internal Communications team to help keep colleagues across our stores, distribution centre and Store Support Centre informed, engaged and connected. You'll gain valuable experience creating communications, supporting campaigns, and helping deliver messages that reach employees across our growing business.
This is an exciting opportunity to develop practical communication, administration and creative skills while earning a nationally recognised qualification.

About The Role
You'll work closely with our Internal Communications team, supporting the delivery of engaging content and communications that help colleagues stay informed about company news, business updates, people initiatives, events, promotions and successes. Working alongside experienced colleagues, you'll learn how effective communication contributes to culture, engagement and business performance.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Assisting with the creation and distribution of internal communications
- Drafting content for colleague newsletters, announcements and company updates
- Supporting colleague engagement campaigns and initiatives
- Helping maintain internal communication channels and content platforms
- Gathering information and stories from departments across the business
- Providing general administrative support to the Internal Communications team
What You'll Need
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Creativity and an interest in content creation
- Confidence using computers and learning new systems
- A proactive and flexible approach to work
- Good time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- An interest in Communications, Marketing, Employee Engagement or Business Administration

Qualifications
- Good standard of English and Maths
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel (desirable but not essential)
