About the role
SLC have a fantastic fixed term (circa 18 months) opportunity for an Internal Communications Business Partner to join our Corporate Affairs Team. The team works to ensure colleagues understand our mission, vision and strategic direction, and support the business to listen and respond to colleague voice and ultimately, to build a more engaged workforce. We do this by developing and delivering corporate and directorate communications activity and by monitoring sentiment, supporting action planning and managing a programme of colleague-focused events.

Although you will have a primary business area to support, you will also have the opportunity to work on and provide expertise across organisational wide events as needed.
The Internal Communication Business Partner helps promote and protect the reputation of their business area. Aligned with SLC’s key priorities and our listening strategy, the Business Partner shapes the content, tone and method of delivery of messages to internal audiences and supports the leadership team to increase levels of engagement within the directorate. This role is a real opportunity to affect change and help shape the new narratives for our leadership team.
What you bring:
- Knowledge and use of internal communication strategies, planning methodologies and best practices, such as OASIS
- Skilled in the creation and evaluation of high-quality internal communications for different on and offline channels
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to both develop content for colleagues and present to our senior leaders
- Adaptable and resilient, able to deal with the unexpected and comfortable with working to deadline
- Ability to troubleshoot and provide solutions using constructive and innovative thinking
- Strong reporting and presentation skills with keen attention to detail
- A high degree of discretion and professionalism
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft 365 tools such as Word, PowerPoint, and particularly Teams. Experience of working with content management systems, such as SharePoint or Interact
- Degree or relevant communications qualification, or significant experience in an internal communications role, preferably in financial services sector or public sector body
