About the Bruntwood Group

Across the Bruntwood Group, we develop, lease, and manage the very best work, leisure, and retail space, as well as regenerating town centres. Bruntwood Places creates and manages workspaces at the heart of thriving towns and neighbourhoods by bringing together flexible workspaces with retail, leisure, and culture. Bruntwood SciTech offers everything from flexible office spaces to high-quality labs in city centres and dedicated campus locations, supported by expert business support and specialist scientific services. Within the Bruntwood group, we also have Unify, a socially responsible commercial cleaning company delivering ethical, high-quality cleaning services across a wide range of settings, and Unify Energy, a regulated Energy supplier which provides electricity and gas to all types of businesses.

We’ve just hit our 50th year anniversary, operating across 8 UK regions with over 120 buildings in our portfolio, with 1,200 colleagues as our driving force, and our purpose is simple, and it drives us every day: Creating Thriving Cities.

But what does this mean to us? It means that we see the world differently, remaining curious about what is around us, walking the streets of our towns and cities every day, looking at tired places and ideas, and seeing how we can do better and release their potential.

Job Purpose

This is an incredible opportunity for an Internal Communications Specialist. As part of the People & Talent team, it is responsible for the strategy and delivery of our internal colleague communications. • You’ll take a collaborative approach, thriving off working together in person with your colleagues.

  • You have an eye for detail and a passion for flawless copy. You tell stories that captivate and align an audience, and take complex business concepts and bring them to life in a clear and engaging way.
  • You build strong, high-trust relationships quickly. You have the gravitas and confidence to respectfully challenge and advise leaders on the best approaches.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment. When plans change or unexpected priorities arise, you pivot smoothly without losing momentum or focus.
  • You are highly organised with strong project management skills. You can manage multiple projects and stakeholder demands without letting details slip.
  • You’re creative with a marketing mindset and look at internal comms through a consumer lens, using visually appealing formats, punchy copy, and creative formats.
  • You genuinely care about colleague experience and have a great understanding of the realities of people challenges, looking at these with sharp commercial focus.
  • You’ll have experience leading internal communications in a similar sized, complex business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Beneficial

  • Crisis communications experience isn’t necessary, however if you have this experience, the pace and resilience of managing this level of complex communication will be beneficial.
  • Any experience of operating as part of a People & Talent team would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience using AI to add value and improve efficiency; we use Gemini internally, and this would be beneficial as we look to embed this into our ways of working.
