Penningtons Manches Cooper is a leading UK and international law firm, recognised for combining legal expertise with a deep understanding of our clients’ commercial objectives. With over 400 specialist lawyers, we provide a full-service offering tailored to the needs of businesses and individuals, delivering high-quality, practical legal advice across a range of sectors.
Our Marketing and Business Development team plays a central role in driving the firm’s strategic growth ambitions. Comprising 28 dedicated professionals, the team has been recognised as a finalist for Best Business Support Team at the British Legal Awards in both 2024 and 2025, reflecting its impact in delivering commercially focused and innovative BD initiatives across the firm and a testament to its collaborative approach.
The Role
We are looking for an Internal Communications Executive to support the delivery of engaging, high-quality internal communications across the firm.
Working closely with the Internal Communications Manager and wider Marketing and Business Development team, you will play an important role in helping to deliver communications that keep colleagues informed, connected and aligned to the firm’s priorities.
This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with strong writing skills, a creative mindset and an interest in building a career in professional service communications. You will be involved in creating content across a range of channels, supporting campaigns and helping to ensure our communications are clear, consistent and impactful.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation and Delivery
- Draft and edit engaging internal communications, including intranet articles, newsletters and firmwide updates
- Translate business information into clear, concise and accessible content for a range of audiences
- Support the creation of visual and digital content, including screens, simple graphics and presentations
- Adapt tone and style to suit different messages, audiences and communication channels
Channels and Platforms
- Support the day-to-day management of internal communication channels, including the intranet (SharePoint Online)
- Upload, update and maintain content to ensure it remains accurate, relevant and engaging
- Assist with the production and distribution of the firm’s internal newsletter
- Contribute to maintaining a consistent and high-quality user experience across platforms

Campaigns and Engagement
- Support the delivery of campaigns and firmwide initiatives internally
- Assist in promoting key messages, business priorities and cultural initiatives across the firm
- Help ensure campaigns are delivered in a coordinated and consistent way
- Contribute ideas for improving engagement and enhancing how we communicate
Planning and Coordination
- Support the management of the internal communications calendar
- Assist in planning and scheduling communications activity
- Help coordinate content and inputs from across the business
- Ensure deadlines are met and communications are delivered in a timely manner
Stakeholder Support
- Work with colleagues across the firm to gather content, stories and updates
- Provide responsive and high-quality support to stakeholders contributing to communications
- Build strong working relationships while developing confidence working with different teams
- Support the Internal Communications Manager in delivering team objectives
Insight and Continuous Improvement
- Help track engagement across internal channels (e.g. newsletter readership, intranet activity)
- Assist in gathering feedback and identifying opportunities to improve communications
- Support the team in exploring new formats, tools and ways of working
- Contribute to maintaining consistent standards and best practice
Essential & Desirable Criteria
What We’re Looking For
- Strong writing and editing skills, with an eye for clear and engaging content
- An interest in internal communications, employee engagement and storytelling
- A creative mindset with the ability to present information in an engaging way
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- High attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work
- A proactive and positive approach, with a willingness to learn
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively
- Good working knowledge of SharePoint. Experience of other design tools (e.g. Adobe, Canva) is beneficial.

Working Arrangements
The firm operates a hybrid agile working policy, enabling employees to work from home (or another UK location) for up to 50% of their time.
