Internal Communications Lead
Energy provider needs an experienced internal communications professional to lead internal communications and engagement across several sites in North Wales (2 days on site) and work closely with central comms function to align business priorities and culture. This is about better communications with hard to reach, digital low workforce and creating a more joined up approach and sense of one community.
As Internal Communications Lead, you will be responsible for developing and delivering impactful internal communications.
You will act as a trusted advisor to leaders, ensuring key messages are communicated effectively and that colleagues at all levels feel informed, valued, and connected to the organisation's goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging internal communications aligned to business priorities and organisational strategy.
- Manage the communications calendar, coordinating activity to ensure timely and consistent messaging.
- Create high-quality content across a range of channels, including intranet, newsletters, leadership briefings, digital screens, presentations, and events.
- Partner with leaders to support business updates, change programmes and employee engagement initiatives.
- Promote local successes and share stories that strengthen organisational culture and employee pride.
- Ensure communications effectively reach remote, site-based, and shift-working colleagues through accessible and inclusive formats.
- Gather feedback and insights to continuously improve communication effectiveness and employee engagement.
- Support crisis communications and business continuity messaging when required.

About You
You will be an experienced internal communications professional with strong stakeholder management skills and a proven ability to deliver communications in complex, unionised environment with hard to reach and highly skilled workforce.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in an internal communications role within an operational, industrial, engineering, utilities, manufacturing, or similarly complex environment.
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate technical information into clear and engaging content.
- Experience managing communications across multiple channels and formats.
- Strong track record of advising leaders on messaging, briefings, and employee engagement activity.
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to balance strategic planning and hands-on delivery.
- Strong relationship-building skills and experience working across diverse stakeholder groups within a matrix organisation.

Travel is required with this role across sites in North Wales which are not accessible via public transport. There is a car/travel allowance in addition to the salary.
Flexible working. Two days on site and three days from home.
