About the role
Nando’s is on a journey to Create Lasting Happiness, making a difference to the lives of our people, our customers, and the communities we work in. Originally started in Johannesburg, South Africa, we pride ourselves on creating memorable experiences for everyone involved in Nando’s: from our employees, communities, founders, and suppliers, but most importantly, our customers.
Our Customer team are seeking a brilliant, immediately available, Internal Communications Manager to join the team on a 12-month fixed term contract.
As Internal Communications Manager you will play a leading role in how we story tell within Nando’s. You will bring to life our purpose and values, and what makes Nando’s a great place to work. You will be responsible for planning, delivering and measuring the impact of numerous creative campaigns across different channels, each aimed to boost internal engagement and help run our restaurants brilliantly.
A day in the life
- Lead in communicating and translating our purpose and values, and what makes Nando’s a great place to work.
- Work closely with our Operations and People Teams to devise campaigns which raise awareness of our four internal brand pillars: Everyone is Welcome; Be the Best Me; Fired up Work Experiences and Be Part of More.
- Be a brilliant story gatherer, storyteller, and writer.
- Build a network of content providers across the business to increase our peer-to-peer ‘voice’ and ability to source and share relevant and relatable content.
- Act as ‘air traffic control’ for all internal messaging. Sometimes the content will be produced elsewhere, sometimes by internal communications, but responsibility for quality, timing, and how content is shared sits with this role.
- To join the dots across stakeholders and projects, be curious and seek opportunities to innovate our content, channels, or processes to maximise outputs.
- Trial, test, and develop new communications content and channels to reach our restaurant teams.
- To work with the Brand team (and external agencies when required) to commission creative content to use in internal campaigns.
- To act as a professional and trusted advisor providing internal communications and engagement expertise to stakeholders across the business.
- Maintain a strong understanding of all parts of the business and develop key contacts to facilitate the gathering of information for proactive and reactive purposes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
