What’s the job?

This is a newly created role to support the rollout and integration of Zurich Cover-More’s Internal Control Integrated Framework across our newly acquired EMEA business. Working with a range of stakeholders, the role will focus on establishing robust controls, ensuring processes are well-documented, tested and aligned with Zurich Group standards, while also reflecting local business activities, control environment of the established EMEA businesses and regulatory requirements.

You will liaise with the local Risk Function who own the regional control strategy and will lead on shaping improvements, guiding colleagues, and supporting the successful delivery of our framework into the new EMEA entities.

  • You’ll support the design and implementation of sustainable controls that integrate local requirements, legacy processes, and centralized/group controls. Including ICFR, financial reporting, business, operational, and IT controls.
  • You’ll contribute to training, education, and communication to build awareness and embed controls in day-to-day operations.
  • You’ll assist in developing and executing initial testing to evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of key controls.
  • You’ll collaborate closely with the regional finance teams and business leaders on risks, control expectations, compliance and best practices.
  • You’ll work closely with the central Internal Controls team and regional risk team to ensure regional implementation is consistent with group standards.

This position is offered as an 18-month maximum term contract.


What are we looking for?

We are looking for a strong communicator and collaborator who can engage with diverse stakeholders and are able to translate complex control concepts into practical and pragmatic solutions to drive change and a fast-paced and complex environment.

  • Proven experience in internal controls, risk management, audit or related roles within a group environment (financial services experience highly regarded).
  • Hands-on experience in designing, implementing and managing internal control frameworks, including control walkthroughs, testing and effectiveness assessments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex control concepts and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • A self-starter with demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast paced environment managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to engage with teams across multiple international time zones.

At Zurich Cover-More, compensation for roles is influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. We are committed to providing a fair and reasonable compensation range for each role and additional rewards may include short-term incentive bonuses and increases based on merit. If your salary expectations are not in line with the proposed salary published for this role, you are still encouraged to apply. The compensation shown reflects a national market range and the proposed salary for this position is £56,000 with short-term incentive bonus eligibility of STIP 10%.
