About the Role
As we expand into new markets and introduce innovative solutions into our product range, we have a requirement to expand our Internal IT Team. This is the ideal role for a first-line support professional who is looking to make the next step in their career and transition into a second / third-line environment.
The successful candidate will possess knowledge of:
- Active Directory
- Entra ID
- Intune
- Defender
- Windows Server
- Hypervisor Management
- Networking capabilities
The Internal IT Support Engineer will join a dynamic second-level team within a rapidly growing, award-winning, and highly accredited company and support wider technological exposure.
The Internal IT Support Engineer will be responsible for providing and promoting a professional, high-quality, client-driven service to our internal customers with the goal of ensuring industry-leading levels of customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of the Internal Support Team within the Office of the CTO, supporting the Internal IT Cloud Infrastructure across the Node4 Group.
- Handle daily tasks and incidents, develop your skillset, and produce high-quality knowledge base articles, end user guides, and processes.
- Offer input into how Internal IT is used by all internal customers, focusing on automation, development, and support.
- Maintain, exceed SLA’s / OLA’s for support tasks and incident resolution.
- Support project teams on the implementation and rollout of new technology.
- Reduce levels of technical debt within Internal IT and Node4.
- Perform system administration activities, including:
- Active Directory
- Windows Server
- Load Balancers
- VMware Hypervisors
- Entra ID
- M365
- Intune
- Maintain, monitor, and, where possible, improve the End User Experience, ensuring internal apps and systems remain available, secure, and adhere to all Node4 policies/compliance.

- Assist the Internal IT Manager in delivering strategy and scope for the Internal IT function.
- Respond to and maintain tickets assigned to the team within defined SLA/OLAs, providing 2nd-level support for escalated Internal IT platform incidents.
- Assist with integrating acquired organizations into Node4 in alignment with the function’s strategy.
- Function as a role model to the team, facilitating knowledge transfers, mentoring peers, and driving a culture of ownership and accountability.
- Develop processes and procedures to ensure consistent operations, identify areas for automation, and implement automation through consultation with teams, where required.
- Undertake training and knowledge transfers to broaden both your own and the team’s skillsets.
- Apply continual service improvement (CSI) principles to team and supported services.
- Implement security best practices and adhere to compliance frameworks in Internal IT environments.
- Work with an ITIL-based approach to Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement long-term fixes.
- Collaborate closely with:
- Service Desk
- Security
- Compliance
- Network teams
- Create and maintain technical documentation and end-user guides.
- Occasional weekend and evening work to facilitate upgrades and other tasks on Internal IT platforms.
- Proactively identify security risks within Node4 and collaborate with relevant teams to reduce the risk profile.
What Will You Bring?
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proficiency with:
- Windows Server
- Active Directory
- Group Policy
- Load Balancers
- Hypervisors
- Intune
- Entrant ID
- External Domain and DNS management
- Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages, ideally PowerShell
- Technical excellence, ensuring tasks are completed quickly and accurately.
- Strong sense of task ownership, including meeting deadlines and informing stakeholders.
- Advanced troubleshooting and network troubleshooting skills (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS).
- Ability to confidently work and communicate across various audiences professionally, including senior stakeholders.
- Ability to obtain SC and NPPV Security Clearances.

Beneficial Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in delivering Internal IT support to multiple departments/business units in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.
- Experience with ServiceNow.
- ITIL Foundation qualified (v3, v4, or v5).
- Microsoft Certifications.
- Knowledge of Single Sign On/SAML.
- Linux administration skills.
- Load balancing and clustering (e.g., NetScaler’s).
- Endpoint patching experience, particularly with third-party tools.
