Internal Vacancy – Second in Science (TLR2b) Permanent
We are delighted to invite applications from colleagues for the position of Second in Science (TLR2b).
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious teacher looking to develop their leadership experience whilst contributing to the continued success of our high-performing Science Department. Working alongside the Head of Science, you will play a key role in driving high standards of teaching and learning, supporting colleagues and helping to ensure that every student achieves their full potential.
The Role
As Second in Science, you will:
- Support the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the Science Department
- Promote consistently high standards of teaching, learning and student achievement
- Support curriculum planning, development, and implementation across the department
- Coach, mentor, and support colleagues, sharing excellent practice and contributing to professional development
- Lead by example through outstanding classroom practice and a commitment to continuous improvement
- Work collaboratively with the wider leadership team to deliver the department's priorities

Requirements
- Current employment at Bitterne Park School
- A degree in Science or a related field
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong understanding of the science curriculum
- Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
- A genuine commitment to fostering student engagement and success
