The role will involve working as part of a busy Sales team within a well-established, family-owned company. The successful candidate will be expected to add to the efficiency and accuracy of the department. Good progression and development opportunities are available.
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working, gaining hands-on experience.
Requirements
- GCSE in English (grade 4-9)
- GCSE in Maths (grade 4-9)
- Ability to use multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation (e.g. MS Office or equivalent) to write letters or emails, create proposals, perform financial processes, and record/analyse data.
- Ability to choose appropriate IT solutions to solve business problems.
- Ability to update and review databases, record information, and produce data analysis.
- Ability to produce accurate records and documents (emails, letters, files, payments, reports, proposals).
- Ability to make recommendations for improvements and present solutions to management.
- Ability to draft correspondence, write reports, and review others' work.
- Ability to maintain records and files, and handle confidential information in compliance with organisational procedures.
- Proactivity and good judgement.
- Ability to make effective decisions based on sound reasoning and deal with challenges maturely.
- Ability to seek advice from more experienced team members when appropriate.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships within their own team and across the organisation.
- Ability to influence and challenge appropriately.
- Ability to become a role model to peers and team members, developing coaching skills.
- Good communication skills (face-to-face, telephone, written, digital).
- Ability to use the most appropriate communication channels effectively.

- Share any other relevant qualifications and industry experience (apprenticeship can be adjusted).

- General administration duties
- Making Sales calls to new or existing customers
- Taking Sales enquiries and orders via telephone
- Providing support for the External Sales Team
- Building relationships with existing and new customers
- Learning how a busy Sales office in the timber industry operates
