Internal Project Manager

Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 pa + Bonus

Location: Swindon or London – Hybrid

Working across our Internal Projects delivery team, as part of the PayTech Market Delivery Success department, you will be responsible for the planning and resource management to ensure the end-to-end delivery of strategic projects, including but not limited to ratification of the project scope, initiating and mobilizing project, directing and controlling project delivery up to operational readiness.

This team is central to delivering PayTech’s strategic roadmap and work with a diverse set of internal stakeholders, building trusted relationships to deliver complex projects in key areas, including Finance, Compliance, Legal and Product delivery.

This role is in a fast-paced environment where customer satisfaction, delivery excellence, and quality are key.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead the implementation of new requirements through to acceptance, rollout, and support (including technical, legal, compliance/risk, and financial workstreams).
  • Plan and track project activities, including resource and budget estimations.
  • Establish and facilitate appropriate project governance and delivery controls.
  • Effectively identify, escalate and delivery manage risks, issues and obstacles.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams.
  • Working collaboratively with internal and external partners to drive successful delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to manage expectations, maintain transparency and alignment.
  • Manage conflict as required.
  • Produce regular project status reports and governance artefacts.
  • Manage change requests and scope creep effectively.
  • Champion continuous improvement across project practices, collaborating with PM teams across the business.
  • Influence project standards, templates, tools, and training approaches without direct hires—act as a mentor to peers and junior PMs.
  • Support the continuous evolution of our PM methodologies and support the embedding of best practice throughout the organization.

What you will bring:

Essential Criteria:

  • Strong Project Management experience.
  • Highly organised, with experience of working within a fast-paced environment and Agile framework.
  • Experience in managing stakeholder’s expectations with the ability to work with external international clients, senior stakeholders, and third parties whilst relying on strong communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to simplify and explain complex issues to a range of audiences.
  • Focus on delivery to agreed scope, quality and timeframe with customer satisfaction and deadline as a core principle.
  • Ability to work under pressure.

Desirable Criteria:

  • PMI or Prince2 certification.
  • Solid experience in managing payment programs, with awareness of regulatory and compliance frameworks.
  • Comfortable working in a technology space with the ability to solve client business problems and issues within this domain.
  • Proven ability to present ideas and run large workshops with clients.
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle.
  • Ability to multitask across different projects & multiple objectives.
  • Fluent English is a must, with French, Spanish and/or Portuguese considered as a plus.
  • Ability to motivate others to attain desired delivery objectives and outcome.
  • Positive attitude and outlook, determined, enthusiastic and resilient.
  • Coaching and mentoring experience.
