What You’ll Do
- Manage the Full Recruitment Lifecycle: Oversee all stages of recruitment, from taking job briefs to managing offers.
- Proactive Sourcing: We don’t just rely on adverts. We want Recruiters who are proactive sourcers. You’ll focus on outreach, build relationships across networks, and constantly look for new ways to find A-players.
- Candidate Assessment: Conduct effective video interviews, assessing skills and behaviours against role requirements, and identify high-potential candidates who align to our values.
- Partner with Hiring Managers: Collaborate to define ideal candidate profiles, align expectations, advise on market insights, and support hiring managers in making confident, high-quality decisions.
- Candidate Management: Provide an exceptional candidate experience from start to finish, ensuring clear communication, timely updates, and a respectful, human process for every applicant.
- Challenge & Improve Recruitment Processes: Feel comfortable giving and receiving feedback to refine our approach—identifying opportunities to streamline, innovate, and elevate our recruitment standards.
- Lead & Support Recruitment Initiatives: Support employer branding activities, careers events, recruitment campaigns, and talent-focused projects that strengthen our pipeline and showcase EMJ as a high-performance, values-driven company.

Who You Are
- Recruitment Experience: You are experienced in 360 recruitment, with a focus on candidate assessment and experience. Knowledge of recruiting roles in publishing, would be an added bonus.
- Growth Mindset: You’re enthusiastic and passionate about recruitment. You are motivated to continuously improve and be the best version of yourself and look how we can continuously improve to make our recruitment journey and employer brand the best in class.
- Organised & detail-oriented: You pride yourself on your ability to manage multiple tasks, track progress, and follow up reliably.
- A communicator: Friendly, professional, with strong verbal and written skills; you can interact with people at all levels.
- Proactive thinker: You don’t wait to be told what to do—you anticipate needs, spot opportunities, and take initiative.
Key Information
- Hours: 8.30am – 5pm, Monday - Friday
- Reporting to: Head of Recruitment and Retention
- Salary: £35,000
- Location: London/Moorgate office
- Working pattern: Hybrid, 3 days in the office (5 days in the office during probation)
To support your training and development during your initial three-month probation, this period will be fully office-based, five days a week. Following this, we anticipate a regular office presence of at least three days a week to maintain collaboration and team connection.
Note: This role is called Recruiter internally.
