Desk-Based Account Manager – Building Products (Polypipe Group)
Polypipe Building Products, part of the Genuit Group, specialises in delivering tailored solutions to the residential sector. We collaborate with national and local developers, plumbing and heating engineers, general builders, and groundworkers to provide above and below ground drainage systems, rainwater solutions, and hot and cold plastic plumbing products.

About the Role
You will be an Account Manager based in the Doncaster office, managing a portfolio of builders’ merchants through structured customer engagement.
Acting as a critical bridge between our company and clients, your role is to:
- Drive sales growth via upselling, cross-selling, and introducing new products
- Build lasting relationships with traders and suppliers to nurture loyalty
- Support commercial initiatives, promote campaigns, and ensure customers receive world-class service
You’ll work closely with sales, marketing, and internal teams to coordinate commercial strategies and maximise growth potential.
Key Responsibilities
Customer & Sales Growth
- Execute a structured call plan, engaging key accounts in the builders’ merchant sector proactively.
- Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets, aligning with broader commercial goals.
- Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts and develop tailored strategies to unlock potential.
- Drive revenue-generation initiatives through upselling, cross-selling, and promotion of new product ranges.

Customer Relationship Management
- Maintain strong trusted relationships with decision-makers across client portfolios.
- Act as the primary point of contact, ensuring timely resolutions for queries and requests.
- Represent the brand as a customer advocate, reinforcing loyalty through tailored service excellence.
Promotional & Marketing Support
- Coordinate ongoing marketing campaigns and promotions, ensuring customer alignment.
- Monitor campaign uptake and success, providing targeted insights to marketing and commercial teams.
- Adjust promotional messaging based on customer needs, seasonal trends, and market dynamics.
Reporting & Insights
- Record all interactions, sales activities, and opportunities in the CRM system with accuracy.
- Present performance reports on account activity, promotional ROI, and customer feedback.
- Analyse customer behaviour, competitor activity, and industry trends to inform decision-making.
Collaboration & Support
- Partner with field-based teams, sales leaders, and support staff for seamless customer coverage.
- Assist in onboarding new clients and facilitating follow-up administrative tasks.
- Contribute to internal process optimisation, driving long-term customer satisfaction.
Skills & Experience Requirements
Essential Qualification & Background
- Proven experience in sales, account management, or a related B2B role—preferably within:
- Construction
- Building supplies
- Materials sector or similar
- Strong commercial acumen, capable of:
- Identifying sales opportunities
- Operating within targets and KPIs in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient use of:
- CRM tools
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams)

Working Hours & Benefits
Contract Details
- Working days: Monday to Friday, 9 am – 5 pm
- Location: Doncaster Neale Road site
