Join SIG Insulation & Dry Lining and play a key role in driving branch performance through exceptional customer relationships and proactive sales.
We are one of the UK’s leading suppliers of specialist building materials, focused on interiors, insulation, and construction solutions. With decades of expertise, a vast branch network, and a commitment to outstanding customer service, we’re more than a distributor — we’re a trusted partner helping our customers deliver successful projects, every time.
What’s the role?
We’re now looking for an Internal Sales Executive (ISE) to join our team. This is a crucial role responsible for generating leads, managing customer accounts, and driving sales through outstanding service and product knowledge. You’ll work closely with our branch teams, external sales, and support functions to deliver excellent results and help us grow our customer base.
Key responsibilities include:
- Customer Relationship Management: Build strong, long-term relationships with customers by understanding their needs, timelines, and material requirements—providing timely support and solutions.
- Sales Process Management: Own the full sales cycle—from quote to completion—working closely with stock and transport teams to ensure smooth delivery and aftersales support.
- Sales Performance: Consistently work towards (and exceed!) branch and individual sales targets, with a clear focus on volume, margin, and profit.
- Lead Generation: Proactively reach out to dormant accounts, follow up on quotes, and work closely with the external sales team to identify local project opportunities.
- CRM & Administration: Maintain accurate records in our CRM system, keeping quotes and customer activity up to date and assisting with invoicing queries when needed.
- Product Knowledge: Develop a strong understanding of our construction materials and industry standards, offering advice to customers on compliance and product suitability.
- Health, Safety & Environment: Champion a safe working environment by actively promoting a culture of safety at all times.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
