With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality pumping solutions across a wide range of industries, this is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded individual to join a specialist internal sales team and build a long-term career in a niche and rewarding sector.
The Role
As an Internal Pump Sales Engineer, you will be a key point of contact for customers seeking technical pump solutions, working closely with the wider sales and engineering team to ensure the right product is selected, quoted and delivered on time. This is a varied, customer-facing role that combines technical knowledge with commercial awareness and requires someone who is confident managing multiple enquiries simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of service.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Selecting and recommending the correct pump type for customer applications, using technical knowledge and manufacturer selection tools
- Producing accurate, detailed and competitive sales quotations tailored to each customer's specific requirements
- Providing technical support to customers via telephone and email, resolving pump-related queries and composing professional written reports
- Liaising closely with Area Sales Managers to follow up outstanding quotes, close business and identify new market opportunities
- Managing and maintaining the CRM system, researching and prospecting new customers and actively contributing to business development activity
- Coordinating the full sales process from initial enquiry, selection and quotation through to order placement and after-sales support
- Building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with customers and suppliers via telephone and email

The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in the pump industry or a technical sales environment is preferred but not essential — a comprehensive training programme will be provided to the right candidate
- Ideally knowledgeable in pumps and pumping systems — including vacuum, centrifugal, side channel and regenerative turbine pumps and their industrial applications. Experience in Pneumatics/rotating equipment is also highly beneficial.
- A strong communicator — personable, professional and comfortable building relationships over the phone and by email
- Commercially minded, results-driven and customer focused
- A proactive team player with a willingness to learn and develop
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and comfortable working with CRM and other IT systems
