Internal Sales Representative (Merchants)
Location: Kings Norton, Birmingham (office based)
U Value Insulation is an established international company, with over 40 years’ experience in the building industry. About the Role
U Value Insulation is experiencing rapid expansion and is recruiting an Internal Sales Representative specialising in the Merchant business stream. This office-based role in Birmingham’s branch focuses on building strong internal sales relationships while growing the company’s revenue.
The ideal candidate will:
- Develop their own customer base through direct engagement with merchants
- Strengthen relationships, retentions, and cross-selling opportunities
- Represent the brand effectively to drive company growth

Responsibilities

Customer Relationships:
- Build and enhance relationships with existing customers to boost satisfaction, retention, and cross-sales
- Maintain engagement with decision-making stakeholders within the construction industry

Sales & Growth:
- Implement CRM systems (training provided) for data management and reporting
- Represent the company at industry/supplier network events
- Achieve assigned Sales KPIs set by management

Sales Proposals & Strategy:
- Develop tailored customer proposals with precise costings and evaluations
- Work collaboratively with Sales, Customer Operations, and Logistics teams

Professional Development:
- Attend monthly team meetings and provide reports as required

Requirements
Experience & Skills
- 2-3 years in a sales or technical role (desirable)
- Proven telesales experience; must possess a charismatic, tenacious approach
- Familiarity with construction and/or building materials advantageous
- Strong communication, presentation, and IT skills
- Adaptable, self-driven, and team-oriented
- Strong negotiation skills with proven results
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments
