Join a Growing Ventilation Specialist
We're looking for a motivated and customer-focused Internal Sales & Trade Counter Assistant to join our busy branch in Newport.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience working within a builders' merchant, plumbing merchant, electrical wholesaler or similar trade environment who enjoys building relationships, providing excellent customer service and supporting trade customers.
Previous ventilation experience isn't essential – full product training will be provided. What matters most is your ability to communicate confidently with customers, work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and deliver outstanding service.
The Role
As the first point of contact for trade customers, you'll play a key role in supporting both the trade counter and internal sales function.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Serving customers at the trade counter.
- Handling inbound telephone and email enquiries.
- Processing customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Providing quotations and pricing information.
- Building strong relationships with new and existing trade customers.
- Identifying opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products.
- Liaising with suppliers and colleagues to ensure orders are fulfilled on time.
- Managing customer accounts and ensuring excellent levels of service.
- Supporting stock enquiries and general branch operations.
- Maintaining accurate records using internal systems.

About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys working with customers and thrives in a busy trade environment.
Essential
- Previous experience within a builders' merchant, plumbing merchant, electrical wholesaler, HVAC distributor or similar trade environment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Confident working with trade customers and contractors.
- Good IT skills and experience using computer-based ordering systems.
- Organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Positive, proactive and reliable approach.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable
- Experience within ventilation or HVAC products.
- Internal sales or trade counter experience.
- Knowledge of construction or building products.
