Company Description
EC Hopkins Limited is a well established distributor of specialist tools and equipment. Supplying to the construction, utility plus oil and gas industries as well as fabrication companies. We have a wide range of Quality Products from large manufacturers such as Stanley and Husqvarna through to smaller specialist companies such as Fein, Hycon, Spitznas and others.
Role Description
The Internal Technical Sales role is a full-time, on-site position based in Birmingham. The individual in this role will handle inbound and outbound sales inquiries, prepare quotations, process orders, and provide technical guidance.
Day-to-day activities include liaising with customers by phone and email, understanding application requirements, recommending suitable products, and coordinating with the warehouse and service teams to ensure timely delivery and after-sales support.

Qualifications
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and explain industrial tools, construction equipment, and cutting solutions.
- Experience in internal sales, customer service, or account management within engineering, construction, hire, or related industries.
- Proficient communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication and confident telephone manner.
- Good IT skills, including use of CRM/ERP systems, email, and standard office software for quotations, order processing, and record-keeping.
- Organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple enquiries, and meet deadlines.
- Previous experience with construction tools, diamond products, or utility/underwater equipment is an advantage but not essential.
- Relevant education or training in engineering, technical sales, construction, or a related field is beneficial.
