We are seeking an International Admissions and Conversion Officer to support Marketing, Recruitment, and Communications in delivering high-quality services across the University.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing large volumes of applications with efficiency and accuracy
- Collaborating with academic tutors and external stakeholders (e.g., UCAS, agents, schools, and colleges)
- Representing the wider admissions department at open events
- Ensuring effective communications with admissions tutors for advice and guidance
- Managing applicant enquiries via email, post, and telephone within agreed deadlines, contributing to the Enquiries Team’s responses and FAQs
- Supporting interview and audition processes, including necessary checks for UKVI compliance
- Assisting in the Confirmation and Clearing processes
- Offering support to the Department, particularly in internal/external events and corporate activities
- Processing admissions decisions in compliance with UKVI regulations

Essential Requirements
- Degree-level education or equivalent, with English and Mathematics at GCSE level
- Proven experience with administrative systems, particularly high-volume and accurate data processing in a customer-facing role
- Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
- Conscientious customer focus and ability to manage international recruitment agents with respect and sensitivity
- Organisational skills and capacity to work efficiently under pressure
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- Flexible team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse student community
- Expertise in work processing and keyboard skills, including:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages
- Experience with relational databases, such as SITS

Desirable Requirements
- Prior experience in processing applications and assessing eligibility, ideally in an international education context
- Experience working in a higher education setting

- The role is typically managed through BCU Support Services Limited, Birmingham City University’s subsidiary. Employees with past LGPS membership may transition directly to Birmingham City University under the LGPS scheme.
