This role operates on a hybrid working arrangement that will require 1 days travel into our Coventry head office or per month.
This may fluctuate in line with business requirements. Our working model arrangements are a non-contractual benefit so please note that an Arden work location is added to our employment contracts.

International and Partnerships is responsible for driving the international agenda within the institution, with a focus on international student recruitment and partnerships. The Global Development Office, is structured into 3 intertwined areas:

  • International Recruitment
  • International Admissions and Conversion
  • International Partnerships

About the Opportunity:

The International Admissions Officer will play a key role in supporting the Admissions process for a range of applicants, from application to enrolment and ensuring compliance with the University’s Admissions Policy and Code of Practice and to meet University targets. The post holder will provide advice, guidance and support to applicants on all aspects of the admissions process helping to overcome any barriers to access.

The primary focus of the role is dealing with a wide range of applications to the University; making decisions on both undergraduate and postgraduate taught applications against set entry criteria, and for building/maintaining excellent working relationships with colleagues in academic areas and external stakeholders.

About You:

As an International Admissions Officer, you’ll play a key role in processing undergraduate and postgraduate applications from international students. You'll ensure decisions are made in line with university admissions policies and UKVI regulations while maintaining exceptional standards of customer service.

You’ll build strong working relationships with applicants, agents, and colleagues across the university, supporting applicants from their first inquiry through to enrolment.

You will need to:-

  • Assess and process international student applications, making decisions on offers, rejections, and withdrawals.
  • Apply and interpret UKVI policies and the university’s admissions criteria.
  • Investigate supporting documentation and liaise with applicants or agents as needed.
  • Detect fraudulent applications and verify international qualifications.
  • Conduct pre-CAS assessments and ensure compliance with sponsorship requirements.
  • Provide tailored advice to applicants and agents on course options and admissions.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and ensure accuracy in the student management system.

Essential requirements:

  • Experience of working in UK Higher Education, specifically within an international admissions or recruitment role.
  • Strong understanding of UKVI regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and student record /CRM systems.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • A proactive, team-oriented approach with a strong customer service ethos.
  • Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Desirable requirements:

  • Experience with ECCTIS and working with external agencies.
  • Knowledge of international education systems.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, including overseas and support events during evenings or weekends.
