International Creative Writer with French
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an International Creative Writer with French based in United Kingdom.
Join an international team creating engaging conversational experiences for cutting-edge virtual assistant technology. In this freelance role, you'll craft creative, culturally relevant dialogue that resonates with French-speaking audiences while maintaining a consistent global voice. You'll combine creativity, language expertise, and editorial precision to shape natural conversations inspired by current events, trends, and everyday interactions. Working in a fully remote environment, you'll collaborate with other writers and reviewers, contribute fresh ideas, and continuously refine the user experience. This is an excellent opportunity for creative linguists who enjoy storytelling, localization, and adapting content for innovative AI-driven products.
Accountabilities
- Write, edit, and enhance creative dialogues for a virtual assistant, incorporating current events, cultural moments, seasonal topics, and user-centric scenarios.
- Refresh and improve existing conversational content to ensure it remains engaging, accurate, and relevant.
- Help maintain a consistent personality and tone across all dialogues while adapting content naturally for French-speaking audiences.
- Translate and localize dialogue from English into French, preserving intent, style, and cultural relevance.
- Review and provide feedback on dialogue created by other writers to ensure editorial quality and consistency.
- Perform quality assurance on conversational content before publication.
- Format and integrate dialogue into XML files using proprietary tools, with training provided.

Requirements
- Native-level French writing skills with excellent command of written English for translation and adaptation tasks.
- Strong creative writing, editing, and proofreading abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision.
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to evaluate, refine, and improve conversational content.
- Interest in current events, popular culture, and emerging trends to create timely, engaging dialogue.
- Openness to feedback, continuous learning, and collaboration within an international remote team.
- Comfortable learning new software and content management tools.
- Previous experience in creative writing, localization, translation, editorial work, or conversational AI content is an advantage.
