International Tax Manager

Location: City of London
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Circa £90,000 per annum plus benefits

Reed Finance is partnering exclusively with a specialist engineering & construction services firm based in London on the hire of an experienced International Tax Manager to support their international expansion and manage complex tax matters across multiple European jurisdictions.

This role will be responsible for managing employment tax, international tax and workforce tax compliance obligations and will be reporting to the Head of Finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tax Compliance Management: Oversee employment tax, international tax, and workforce tax compliance for personnel deployed across multiple European jurisdictions.
  • Strategic Tax Advisory: Provide expert advice on international workforce taxation, payroll tax obligations, and social security compliance to support strategic decision-making.
  • Tax Governance Development: Develop and maintain tax governance frameworks and policies to ensure compliance with international tax regulations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Finance, HR, Global Mobility, Payroll, and Legal teams, as well as external advisers, to ensure cohesive tax strategies and support workforce deployments and international expansion initiatives.
  • Leadership in Growth: Play a pivotal role in the company's growth, aiding the expansion from 100 to 200 personnel over the next three years by managing tax-related aspects of international workforce planning and deployment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Educational and Professional Credentials: Degree in Tax or Accountancy (CTA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years' experience in Employment Tax, International Tax, or related fields.
  • Comprehensive Tax Knowledge: Strong understanding of employment tax, social security, and international payroll frameworks.
  • Experience with International Teams: Proven experience managing internationally mobile employee populations and coordinating with external tax advisers.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills for financial modelling and developing salary calculators.
  • Analytical and Management Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to manage multiple jurisdictions and competing priorities effectively.
