Internet Provider Business Development Manager – Public Sector Sales

£65,000 Basic, £130,000 OTE + Benefits

Based Northern England

Our client is a specialist managed business internet provider, offering ultrafast broadband, dark fibre, and WiFi networks connecting multi-site, and multi-user environments alike. They sell to Defence, Leisure, BTR, Construction, Student, Data centres, Corporate, and the Public Sector.

Due to continued success, they are now looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join the team and focus on Northern England, north of Birmingham.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to expand their proposition into the Public Sector and/or Defence. This is a hunter role and you will be expected to identify, target, develop, and close business within your sector. Working closely with the Management team, you will identify opportunities to expand and establish new partnerships in the Managed Service area.

Using your network, you will uncover opportunities for growth across the Local/Central and wider Public Sector markets, developing and executing business strategies to drive growth and profitability. You will develop successful, sustainable, and profitable long-term relationships with the largest and most complex customers building and maintaining a solid and robustly qualified pipeline of sales opportunities within your assigned industry verticals growing to a level of 3x target coverage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and target new business opportunities within the Public Sector and Defence sectors.
  • Develop and execute business strategies to drive growth and profitability.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers.
  • Manage a robust pipeline of sales opportunities.

Requirements

  • Substantial sales experience in business development within the Public Sector vertical.
  • Experience in complex deal management and a solid understanding of Public Sector procurement, bidding, and frameworks.
  • Experience in the telecoms industry and a strong understanding of WiFi, Fixed Line Connectivity, SD-WAN, and IoT products would give you a distinct advantage.
  • A full UK driving license and excellent communication and presentation skills, along with strong negotiation and influencing skills are a prerequisite.
